Charly Lownoise
Charly Lownoise (stage name of Ramon Roelofs) was born on June 17, 1968 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Until 1987 his teenage years were dominated by disco and Italian music. His musical directions changed when he first heard house music on a summer holiday in Blanes, Spain.
In 1992 he met Mental Theo, with whom he started making music. Throughout the '90s, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo became leading figures in popular music, spreading their happy hardcore sound across Europe and the rest of the world and scoring many high charting hits such as Wonderful Days, Stars, Together in Wonderland, Hardcore Feelings and Fantasy World.
At the end of the ninetees, Charly Lownoise grew tired of the commercial sound of happy hardcore. He started to experiment in the studio again, together with two long time friends, Frank and Marcel. Trying to build a bridge between hardcore music and trance, a genre which was then quickly rising to prominence, they released a few hardstyle tracks under the name of Deepack. At the same time, Lownoise was also involved in projects like the ‘Bitte ein Beat!’ cd-series in the Netherlands and ‘Starsplash’ in Germany. Read more on Last.fm.
